In NAMS 7th and 8th Grade Chorus this week
This week we will be working on our chorus music for the Spring Concert. Our money and clearances for the spring Hershey trip are now over due.
7th grade will be working on finishing "How Can I Keep from singing" We will be adding the words back in. We will be starting on "Rise up and Sing" and finishing "Let There Be Music" Our PST5 and reflections will be continuing. We will be starting a new Polynesian song called "Tongo."
8th grade will be working on learning the rest of "How Can I Keep from Singing" and most of our time will be spent learnign a beautiful song called "Shenandoah." We will also have a schoology post that is required to complete in schoology. Our PST5 and reflections will be continuing. We will also be reviewing our progress this season.
After School RehearsalsThere is not any after school for chorus this week due to a faculty meeting on Tuesday and a meeting on Wednesday. Please enjoy the week off and practice so we can make more progress next week! After school chorus is held until 3:30 on Tuesdays for 7th grade (except the first Tuesday of each month) and Wednesdays for 8th grade. Any students in the chorus class are encouraged to attend at the invitation of the PM Chorus members, but are only required to attend the last two rehearsals before each concert. Please be sure to have your parents pick you up at the bus loop as you are not permitted to leave through the front doors after school hours.ShowChoirThis week we will work on "Twist and Shout" and strengthen both "This Joint is Jumpin'" and "What a Wonderful World." We will probably have solo tryouts at that time. Finally we will really start to look into "Neverending Story."ShowChoir meets after school on Thursdays from 2:30-5:00 PM. Please be sure to have your parents pick you up in the bus loop at 5 PM.The Showchoir sings mostly American Standards (jazz and big band style music) and musicals. We sing difficult harmonies and do choreography to most if not all of our numbers. These students should maintain good grades as they sometimes need to miss class in order to perform throughout the community. If you would like to have the Northampton ShowChoir perform for your event, please contact me at 610-262-7817. We do need to let students and parents know if advance, so please call at least 5 weeks before your event...Sooner is better than later!
