    How do I borrow a book?

    1. First use the link to download the free app of

         your choice:

    Download the OverDrive Media Console mobile app to get started.  This will allow you to borrow books on an iPhone, iPad, iPod, Windows Phone, Kindle tablets, Kobo tablets, Nooks and Android and Blackberry phones.

     

    2.             Next, connect to Colonial IU to borrow

       and download a book.

    -       Use the pull down arrow and select Northampton Area School District

    -       Use your current Northampton High School username and password to log onto OverDrive

    -  Select your format of choice to borrow the book

     


    The following online services are available to all high school students and faculty.  These products can be accessed at home or school with a password.  Please see the librarian for password information.

    GALENET – GALENET includes 6 full text databases with over 1.4 million citations.  Sources include textbooks, magazines, newspapers, biographies, historical overviews and primary source documents.  The databases provided by the service are:


    Student Resources in Context – Full text coverage of 1,000+ magazines, newspapers, over 20,000 photographs and illustrations.  Also includes primary documents, essays and critical analysis.

    Biography Resources in Context – This database allows you to search for people based on one or more personal facts such as birth and death year, nationality, ethnicity, occupation or gender.

    Literature Resources from Gale – Covers more than 120,000 authors from every age and literary discipline.  Provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analysis.

    Opposing Viewpoints in Context – A one-stop source for information on social issues.  Access viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, links to websites, magazine and newspaper articles.


    Gale Virtual Reference Library - Specialized reference sources in eBook form, accessible online 24/7.

    U.S. History in Context - Hundreds of people, events, and topics in U.S. History from a variety of media sources.



    SIRS KNOWLEDGE SOURCE Updated daily, SKS includes 3 full text databases covering information on social issues, economics, business, politics, global issues, science, health, history, government, arts and humanities.
