    At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

    • Employee #4283, an unpaid FMLA childrearing leave of absence, beginning November 24, 2020, through December 23, 2020, as per Federal Government regulations.
    • Employee #3960, an unpaid FMLA childrearing leave of absence, beginning February 23, 2021, through May 20, 2021, as per Federal Government regulations.
    • A full-year sabbatical for Genevieve Terpstra, for the purpose of professional development, for the 2021-2022 school year.
    • Resignation of Colleen Corcoran from the position of Natatorium Instructional Assistant at the Middle School, effective at the end of the day on October 2, 2020.
    • Employee #3657, an unpaid leave of absence beginning October 12, 2020, through October 28, 2020.
    • An unpaid leave of absence extension for Employee #4441, through October 23, 2020.
    • Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2020-2021 school year.
    • Revised Master District Volunteer List for the 2020-2021 school year.
    • Revised Mentor/Inductee List for the 2020-2021 School Year including the mentors and stipend payment for the 2020-2021 school year.
    • Revised listing for Extra-Curricular & Supplemental Positions for the 2020-2021 school year.
    • Patrick Madden, Tuesday through Saturday Custodian at the Middle School, effective October 27, 2020. His base rate of pay will be $21.05 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and Teamsters Local 773.
    • Nicole Morin, TPE Mathematics Teacher at the High School, effective the first day of the second semester of the 2020-2021 school year. Her salary will be $54,055.00, pro-rated with benefits, based on a Bachelor’s Degree and Step 1, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA.
    • The voluntary transfer of Cheryl Kusmider from Class C 10-Month Secretary to Class B 12-Month Secretary at George Wolf Elementary School, effective retroactive to August 10, 2020. Her salary will be $24.89 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the ESPA Agreement.
    • Northampton Area School District K-12 Revised Academic Plans for District Continuity of Education 2020-2021 School Year including Plan A, Plan B1, Plan B2, and Plan C.
    • The Northampton Area School District Revised temporary emergency provisions in accordance with Section 520.1 of the School Code beginning with school year 2020-2021 that accounts for at least 180 instruction days and 990 hours of instruction at the secondary level and 900 hours of instruction at the elementary level; the temporary emergency provisions shall remain in effect until the COVID-19 emergency has ended, but in no event shall the temporary emergency provisions remain in effect for a period of more than four (4) years after they are first put into effect, unless reauthorized by the School Board and reapproved by the Secretary of Education; the temporary emergency provisions shall be signed by the Superintendent of Schools and the President of the Board of School Directors and thereafter shall be submitted to the Secretary of Education for approval.  The Administration is authorized to take all actions necessary to carry out and implement the temporary emergency provisions.  The Secretary of the School Board shall, if required by PDE, certify the School Board minutes at which the temporary emergency provisions were approved by the School Board.
    • Addendum allowing Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. to collect the District’s 2020 delinquent real estate taxes.
    • Bills for Payment.
    • The Board of School Directors of the Northampton Area School District does hereby authorize the Administration to work with PFM Financial Advisors LLC, as Independent Financial Advisor, and King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul, LLC as Bond Counsel, in conjunction with the issuance of the School District's General Obligation Bonds, Series of 2021, in the approximate amount of $9,100,000 via a competitive internet auction or a negotiated sale as advised by the Independent Financial Advisor.  Further, the Board of School Directors of the Northampton Area School District does hereby authorize the Administration to work with PFM Financial Advisors LLC, as Independent Financial Advisor, and King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul, LLC as Bond Counsel, in conjunction with the issuance of the School District's General Obligation Bonds, Series A of 2021, the proceeds of which will be used to currently refund all or a portion of the District’s outstanding 2016 Bonds, via a competitive internet auction or a negotiated sale as advised by the Independent Financial Advisor, with a minimum net savings target of $200,000.  The Board of School Directors of the Northampton Area School District also does hereby authorize the Administration to work with PFM Financial Advisors LLC, as Independent Financial Advisor, and King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul, LLC as Bond Counsel, in conjunction with the issuance of the School District's General Obligation Bonds, Series AA of 2021, the proceeds of which will be used to currently refund all or a portion of the District’s outstanding 2013A Bonds, via a competitive internet auction or a negotiated sale as advised by the Independent Financial Advisor, with a minimum net savings target of $400,000.
