Vocabulary Strategies (Word Endings)
- When coming across a word you don't know look at the end of the word. If it has -ed or -ing added to a verb (action word) this makes it past tense (telling about past actions).
- Example: migrating has -ing, which is the past tense of the word migrate

Imperative & Exclamatory Sentences
- Imperative sentences are commands that make a request or give an order. They usually begin with a verb. They end with a period (.).
Example: Fetch us a squirrel.
- Exclamatory sentences show strong feelings, excitement, or surprise. They end with a exclamation mark (!).
Example: This is an amazing dog!
