    ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT'S PERFORMANCE STANDARDS FOR THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR:

    (1) Personnel:  Assistant Superintendent supervises and oversees School District personnel pursuant to the Assistant Superintendent's job description and as directed and assigned by the Superintendent or Board.

    (2)  Policy, Laws and Regulations:  Assistant Superintendent recommends and works collaboratively with the Board to develop, review and revise Board to develop, review and revise board Policy and Procedures and informs the Superintendent and Board Policy Committee about new laws and regulations that may affect the District and/or necessitate updates of Board Policy and Procedure.

    (3)  Special Education:  Assistant Superintendent supervises and oversees the special education program, psychological services department and guidance department and collaborates with the curriculum department to schedule appropriate in-service and educational workshops for school personnel.

    (4)  School Safety and Security:  Assistant Superintendent supervises, oversees, enforces and initiates School District policies, programs and training for the safety and security of students and staff.  Assistant Superintendent supervises, oversees and schedules training for the School District police and security personnel.  Assistant Superintendent monitors School District compliance with Federal laws and regulations, State laws and regulations, local ordinances and School District policies and procedures relating to safety and security.

    (5)  Student Discipline:  Assistant Superintendent oversees and enforces the Student Code of Conduct in collaboration with the building principals, assistant principals, security personnel, School District police and other School District personnel.  The Assistant Superintendent informs the Superintendent about discipline issues that impact and relate to the daily operation of each District school.

    (6)  Accountability:  Assistant Superintendent is accountable to the Superintendent and shall provide information, data and knowledge about the School District staff under her direct supervision and students for whom she is responsible including written reports as might be requested by the Superintendent.

    (7)  Professionalism:  Assistant Superintendent models professional decision making processes and ethical standards consistent with the values of Pennsylvania's public education system as well as that of the local community.  Assistant Superintendent additionally works to individually reflect upon her effectiveness within the role, and works to improve effectiveness through the use of professional development literature and activities.

    (8)  Communication and Community Relations:  Assistant Superintendent communicates with and effectively engages the staff, the Board and members of the community, clearly articulating the goals and priorities of the School District and Superintendent, and building support for the School District's initiatives, programs, and short/long term plans.

    The Assistant Superintendent has met the above Performance Standards for the 2017-2018 school year.
