April 14, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The following parent, student, and community website link: Northampton Area School District Academic Plan for Extended School Closure is located here in blue.  At this website, you will find information about logging on to your child’s courses and classroom lessons and assignments. This website also contains information about the NASD K-12 Academic Plan for District Continuity of Education

The Northampton Area School District is dedicated to educating and developing responsible citizens who learn from the past, listen to the present, and lead the future.  In these unprecedented times, the District is committed to that mission and to continue the education of all our students.

The Northampton Area School District developed a NASD K-12 Academic Plan for District Continuity of Education Plan for the extended closure of our schools aligned to the state of Pennsylvania’s expectation for planned learning.  The District distributed 5,500 Chromebooks to students K-12 to ensure new learning can occur in a virtual environment during the closure. Teachers prepared standards-aligned online learning activities for all students to engage in learning within online platforms including but not limited to Class DoJo, Google Classroom, and Schoology. The purpose of this plan is to detail all of the critical components of the Northampton Area School District’s Continuity of Learning Plan.
