Northampton Area School District will communicate with parents and guardians in a number of ways to help distribute timely and accurate information.

Grades, School Notices, Attendance, Medical, Education Records - Please be sure to join NASD's Sapphire Community Portal to access a variety of educational information for your students. We also use Sapphire Notification System for attendance notifications and general announcements. Please be sure to keep your phone and email information up to date. To access Schoology, parents will go to www.schoology.com, register for a parent account, and use the parent access code provided by your child's school. Once you setup your account you may control your personal notifications and choose email or text message when your child’s courses are updated. Please note that your child has his/her own Schoology account. Students access Schoology at schoology.nasdschools.org for their coursework.

Public Comments:

Per school board policy 815.1 Social Media - All School District social media accounts shall operate as either a non-public forum (where the public may not comment on the District’s posts), or as a limited public forum, where the public may comment publicly on the District’s posts – subject to certain guidelines. Whether a social media account is operated as a non-public forum or limited public forum shall be determined by the account operator. School District social media accounts that operate as a limited public forum shall include a prominent link to the following comment guidelines, posted on the School District’s website: a. Comments must be related to the original School District post b. No personal attacks c. No lewd, vulgar, or obscene posts d. No discriminatory or harassing comments e. No posts promoting violence or illegal conduct f. No posts that cause a disruption to school environment or operations. Individual comments or posts that violate the above guidelines may be deleted (if possible given the social media platform) without further notice. Posts may not be deleted simply because they are critical of the School District, or because they promote an unpopular opinion, if the post otherwise complies with the above guidelines.
