Northampton Middle School student-athlete Claire Sobieski is making a name for herself both on the field and behind the camera. An eighth-grade, three-sport athlete, Claire competes in middle school cross country, soccer, and junior high girls basketball. An aspiring photographer, she recently captured a standout image while photographing a Northampton boys varsity soccer game—a powerful shot of junior goalkeeper Ryan Nahf in action.
Claire submitted the photograph to the Scholastic Art and Writing Contest, sponsored by Kutztown University, where it earned Gold Key status, the highest honor awarded. The winning photo is currently on display in the Kutztown University Gallery, showcasing Claire’s talent to a wider audience.
In a full-circle moment, Claire was recently able to present Ryan with a copy of the award-winning photograph, celebrating both the athletic achievement and the artistic moment it inspired.
