Keegan Hackett, a senior at Northampton Area High School and a welding student at Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School, recently secured first place at the 55th annual American Welding Society (AWS) District 3 welding competition. Thank you to the Goethe-Institut USA for coordinating a great experience for our NAHS German students on Friday, April 17. They visited the Evonik Chemical Company and Innovation Hub in Trexlertown in the morning to learn about the career opportunities connected to a German company operating in the US. In the afternoon, Evonik sponsored a soccer camp for the students run by two professional soccer trainers from the Borussia Dortmund (BVB) soccer organization. The students learned new approaches to German culture by combining sports, language, and intercultural exchange! Thank you to Evonik, BVB, and the Goethe-Institut USA! #KKidpride #KKidsthrive
